Mr Alastair Kiszely
Consultant Orthopaedic Hand & Wrist Surgeon

Mr Alastair Kiszely is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hand and wrist conditions. He offers expert assessment and treatment of a wide range of conditions affecting the upper limb.

​

Educated at Eton College, Mr Kiszely completed his medical training at St Andrews and Manchester Universities, followed by surgical training in Oxford, London, Stanmore, and the Severn Deanery. He undertook advanced specialist fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he gained comprehensive experience in both orthopaedic and plastic hand surgery.

Mr Kiszely is a Consultant at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and sees private patients at Nuffield Health Bristol

 

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. He is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA)

Prevention:

Mr Kiszely believes that sugery is not always required for conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow, and is experienced in non operative management. This may include hand therapy, medication, splinting or injections to improve symptoms and prevent deterioration. 

Procedures:

Where surgery is required, Mr Kiszely specializes in a range of surgical procedures including hand reconstruction, wrist arthroscopy, elbow ligament repair, joint replacement, tendon repair, nerve decompression, and minimally invasive surgeries.

Rehabilitation:

Post-surgery, Mr Kiszely focuses on personalized rehabilitation plans to optimize recovery and promote function. This includes working closely with hand therapists and  physiotherapists to optimise long-term hand health.
